The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Thursday said that it has not seen the video of US President Donald Trump's remark on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's political career, saying, it will take appropriate action.
Addressing the weekly breafing, MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal was asked about Trump's recently reported remark.
Reacting to that, Jaiswal said, “I have not seen the video... However, if such a video exists, whether it is true or false, we will take appropriate action on it.”
Trump made the remarks in October. However, the video has resurfaced on social media recently.
"Modi is a great man. He loves Trump," the US president said, before making a 'political career' remark.

On Wednesday, US President Donald Trump once agian hailed the trade deal with India as 'historic'.

Last week, the US and India announced they have reached a framework for an interim agreement on trade.
“And under our leadership, we're becoming a massive energy exporter. In just the past few months, we've made historic trade deals with Japan, Korea, India and others to increase our coal exports dramatically,” Trump said during an event titled ‘Champion of Coal'.
According to a joint statement, the framework for the interim bilateral trade deal reaffirms the two countries' commitment to the broader US-India Bilateral Trade Agreement (BTA) negotiations, launched by President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 13, 2025.

"India will eliminate or reduce tariffs on all US industrial goods and a wide range of US food and agricultural products, including dried distillers' grains (DDGs), red sorghum for animal feed, tree nuts, fresh and processed fruit, soybean oil, wine and spirits, and additional products," reads the joint statement.
The statement says that the United States will apply a reciprocal tariff rate of 18 percent on originating goods of India, including textile and apparel, leather and footwear, plastic and rubber, organic chemicals, home décor, artisanal products, and certain machinery.
