- The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and the BJP's overseas unit in Kuala Lumpur distanced themselves from a poster for International Yoga Day, which invited Malaysian residents to attend a yoga day function on 19 June, reported The Hindu.
- Sitaram Yechury “accused the government of allowing BJP affiliates to misuse government-sponsored activities for political benefit”, said the report. In response to the accusation, the MEA has actively distanced itself from the posters, indicating that they will be withdrawn.
- The MEA maintained the event is being organised exclusively by the High Commission in Kuala Lumpur. Meanwhile, the Malaysia chapter of the BJP-affiliated Overseas Friends said it had no knowledge of how the poster got published.
