Hours ahead of his release from Tihar jail, the Delhi High Court paused on Friday bail release order of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in a corruption case related to the excise policy.

The Enforcement Directorate has challenged the release order by the trial court and bail shall not be granted until their petition is heard, the high court said.

The ED sought an urgent hearing and a bench of Justices Sudhir Kumar Jain and Ravinder Dudeja will hear the matter.

Kejriwal, who had been arrested on money laundering allegations while framing the Delhi liquor policy, was set to be released at around 4 p.m. The trial court had granted bail to the chief minister on the condition of non-interference with the investigation after his lawyer argued that the ED had presented no evidence against Kejriwal.
