Three people have been reported dead in rain-related incidents across Mumbai, Thane so far.
Slow-Moving Traffic, Delayed Trains
Commuters had a tough time with waterlogged roads and a disrupted public transportation system. Traffic is moving slowly in certain areas including Khar, Santacruz, Western Express Highway and Malad, according to Mumbai Police.
Local trains across the Central Railway line have been delayed, and many inter-state trains playing today rescheduled.

Three Die In Rain-Related Incidents; Infrastructure Crumbles
Two people died last night near the Metro Cinema in south Mumbai, after a tree fell on them due to heavy rainfall, newswire agency PTI reported, citing an official from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's disaster management unit.
A 13-year-old boy lost his life today after an adjacent wall collapsed at his house at Wadol village in Ambernath taluka of Thane. His parents got injured too.
In another incident, a 65-feet wall of a housing complex in Thane city collapsed this morning, crushing two cars and another vehicle.
Additionally, a huge part of a compound caved in at Antop Hill area in Wadala, damaging around 15 cars with some vehicles getting buried under the debris, BMC’s disaster management cell told PTI.

The Southwest monsoon gathered momentum in Mumbai resulting in heavy downpour, causing waterlogging at several places and slowing the movement of suburban trains. Heavy rains lashed India’s financial capital last night and continued today.
“Mumbai is expected to witness heavy to very heavy rainfall over the next 12 hours,” said SkymetWeather in a tweet today. Overall, the private weather forecaster is predicting that “good rains” will continue till July 12, with parts of Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat likely to witness heavy downpour.
“Central India is gearing up for rains and we expect very heavy rains in western Madhya Pradesh and South Gujarat in the coming days,” said Mahesh Palawat, Vice President-Meteorology, Skymet in a conversation with BloombergQuint today.
