A team from the United States will be in India in August for the next round of negotiations for a bilateral trade deal, sources told NDTV Profit on Monday.
The development comes after negotiators on both sides concluded the fifth round of talks in Washington last week.
As of now, it remains unclear whether the so-called reciprocal tariffs threatened by Trump from Aug. 1 will be imposed on India as well amid the ongoing trade deal talks.
Earlier, it was believed that the two sides might reach a consensus asround the July 9 deadline, but that was shifted to Aug. 1. Currently, the only goalpost for negotiations is fall of 2025, which means that the first tranche of the agreement will be reached by September-October.
