Trump's Latest On India-US Trade Deal — Highlights

The US president has indicated that the two countries are close to a trade deal.
“We had one (deal) yesterday. We have another one coming up, maybe with India….I don’t know, we’re in negotiation," he said.
"We're very close to a deal with India where they open it up," he added.
The comments come a day after Trump said his administration was working on a trade deal with India on "same line" as Indonesia.
Under the trade pact, tariffs on Indonesia has been lowered to 19% from 32% announced earlier.

President Donald Trump said he would send letters to more than 150 countries notifying them of tariff rates as he pushes ahead with a trade agenda that has sent US partners racing to avoid higher import taxes.

“We’ll have well, over 150 countries that we’re just going to send a notice of payment out, and the notice of payment is going to say what the tariff rate will be," Trump told reporters on Wednesday at the White House. “It’s all going to be the same for everyone, for that group.”
