India's daily Covid-19 infection rate fell to under 29,000 even as a third wave, projected to hit its peak in October, threatens to disrupt economic and social activity in the country.
As many as 28,591 people tested positive for the coronavirus in the last 24 hours according to the Health Ministry's update as of 9 a.m. on Sept. 12.
Daily recoveries, at around 34,848, exceeded fresh infection count.
