India saw its deadliest day of the Covid-19 pandemic with more than 50 lives lost over the last 24 hours as total infections continue to rise.
Total confirmed cases of Covid-19 in India stood at 9,352 on Monday evening, according to the health ministry’s website. This includes 980 who have recovered and 324 deaths. There have been 51 deaths in the last 24 hours.
India’s 21-day lockdown is all set to be extended further with most state chief ministers seeking a longer period of restricted activity. Some states like Odisha, Punjab, Maharashtra and Telangana have already extended the lockdowns.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the country on April 14 at 10 a.m.
Globally, total confirmed cases exceed 1.84 million while deaths top 1,14,000, according to data by John Hopkins.

Total Tests In India Cross 2 Lakh
India has tested more than 2 lakh samples for Covid-19 as the country continues to graduallly increase testing numbers.
So far, India has done 2,06,212 tests, ICMR Chief Epidemiologist RR Gangakhedkar said. Over 14,800 tests were done across 156 laboratories on Sunday.
The way we are doing tests we have the capacity and stock to keep doing tests for the next 6 weeks, Gangakhedkar said.
Mumbai Civic Ward Distribution Of Covid-19 Cases
More than half of Mumbai’s cases come from seven wards which have cases between 70-300 each, according to a graphic released by the BMC.
Mumbai reported 1,399 coronavirus positive cases as of April 12.

PM Modi To Address Nation Tomorrow At 10 A.M.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to address the nation tomorrow at 10 A.M.. This will be his fourth such address as India fights the spread of coronavirus. The first address was to make citizens aware of the pandemic and ask them to stay home as much as possible. The second was to announce the lockdown, the third was to ask for a promotion of strength and unity by lighting diyas.
This address will come days after the Prime Minister’s meeting with state chief ministers where several of them asked for the lockdown to be extended till April 30. Odisha, Punjab and then Maharashtra have already extended the lockdown in their states officially.

Vegetable, Onion, Potato Market Will Start From 15th April At Vashi APMC
The Vashi market, which was closed on April 11 to prevent the spread of coronavirus - will reopen on April 15 only for vegetables and potato-onions, according to APMC.
The APMC in Vashi has five markets, for:
- Foodgrains.
- Onion and potato.
- Masala.
- Fruits.
- Vegetables.
