Zee Learn shares surged 15 per cent on Friday after the pre-school chain operator reported strong earnings for the first quarter.
The net profit of Essel group's education arm doubled to Rs 8 crore for the quarter ending June 30, 2016, on the back of sharp jump in operating margins.
Its EBITDA or operating margins rose by 790 basis points to 30.8 per cent in the first quarter as compared to 22.9 per cent in the same quarter of the previous year.
Revenues rose 17.5 per cent to Rs 42 crore.
At 11:07 a.m., shares of Zee Learn were up 11 per cent to Rs 33 as compared to a 0.40 per cent fall in Nifty50 benchmark index.
