The next time you are in New York and are tempted to pick up a pair of Levi's 501 jeans, resist the urge as it is much cheaper back home.

According to a Deutsche Bank annual survey report of global prices titled 'Random Walk: Mapping the World's Prices 2015', a pair of Levi's 501 in New Delhi will cost you 73 per cent of the what it would cost in New York. In Mumbai, it is even cheaper at 63 per cent of the New York prices. Bangalore prices are at 80 per cent of the Big Apple rates.

Speaking of Apple, if you are looking to buy an iPhone though, New York will prove to be cheaper, according to the survey. An iPhone 5s in India is 129 per cent of the price in the US, while the iPhone 6 in India is 130 per cent of the US price, according to the survey.

"Despite USD (US dollar) appreciation, the United States remains the cheapest place to buy an iPhone 6," the report said.

For those of who us who smoke, picture this - the cost for a pack of Marlboro cigarettes in New Delhi is 25 per cent of the price in New York. In Mumbai it is 25 per cent as well, while in Bangalore it is 21 per cent of the New York price.

A pair of Adidas Superstar 2 sports shoes, however, cost the same in India as in the US, the study showed.
