Urbanites Face Lower Mortality as Rural Death Rates Spike: Chart

(Bloomberg) -- Death rates are rising among 20-somethings in both metropolitan and non-metropolitan areas, according to data compiled by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. But in rural areas the trend goes beyond that, with every age cohort from 20 to 54 seeing increased mortality compared to rates at the turn of the century. The reason, according to the agency: Drugs.
