(Bloomberg) -- Trick or treat? For Americans, treats are in the offing. Spending on Halloween candy is expected to increase by 5.5 percent this year from a year ago, the strongest gain since 2011, reaching a total of $3.8 billion (about $30.60 per household), according to IHS Global Insight. The good news: The additional spending isn't due to an increase in candy prices, which are expected to drop by 0.4 percent from last year, the first decline since 2013.
