(Bloomberg) -- Tesla CEO Elon Musk said on Twitter that he “much appreciated” an offer from a Texas county to immediately accommodate Tesla if it chose to move from California.
The letter, written by Hidalgo County Judge Richard F. Cortez, said the county had a labor force that quickly could be trained to begin manufacturing for Tesla. He noted the county no longer had a shelter-in-place mandate. Musk tweeted his reply to the letter on Monday.
Musk has spoken out against California's shelter-in-place orders and sued a county over its refusal to allow Tesla's assembly plant in Fremont, Calif., to reopen. He threatened to move Tesla's headquarters out of the state and said all of its manufacturing could leave California.
