(Bloomberg) -- Taiwan scrambled jets to warn off Chinese J-11 fighters and other planes flying into the waters southwest of the island in exercises around 7 p.m. Monday, according to a statement on the Taiwan Defense Ministry's facebook page.
- The aircraft flew close to the island's Air Defense Identification Zone: statement
- The military closely monitors the Taiwan Strait and nearby areas and is capable of defending the island's territory, the ministry said
