Mumbai: Maximum Indulgence
Living up to its 'Maximum City' tag, Mumbai went all out on indulgence. The city splurged a staggering Rs 8.2 lakh on tonic water in a single day, showcasing its flair for high spirits. It also led in orders for umbrellas and raincoats, proving its preparedness for Mumbai monsoon madness. But it wasn't all drinks and rains — a pet lover in the city spent over Rs 15 lakh on pet supplies, primarily dog and cat food. Mumbai also staked its claim on onions, with the city ordering the most 'kandas' in the country, especially on Dec. 1, when 4,500 kgs of onions were delivered between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m.
Bangalore: A Mix Of Puja And Party
Bangalore emerged as the 'Poo bani Parvati' city, balancing tradition and celebration. The city led the charts in puja essentials while also ordering 1.8 times more wine and shot glasses than others, especially around Diwali. Hygiene was high on Bangaloreans' priority list, with the city snapping up 2.72 lakh toothbrushes — a sparkling clean record!
Delhi: National Capital or Snack Capital?
Delhi stayed true to its love for instant gratification, spending a jaw-dropping Rs 60 crore on instant noodles alone. The capital also topped orders for potato chips, holding its status as the ultimate snack haven. But it wasn't just about food — Delhi also splurged Rs 4.6 lakh on poker chips during Diwali, turning the festival of lights into a festival of high stakes.
