IT giant Oracle has reportedly laid off around 12,000 employees in India, with the next round of job cuts expected within a month, PTI reported, citing impacted employees. The company has fired around 30,000 employees across the globe.
The company has nearly 30,000 employees in India, which includes those impacted by the layoffs.
"In India, around 12,000 employees have been laid off. The company is planning another mass layoff within a month,"the news portal quoted two people impacted by the job cuts.
Oracle has not officially reacted to the development.
The thousands of employees across the globe were informed through an email sent at 6 am, according to a report by the New York Post.

Here's what the email said -
"We are sharing some difficult news regarding your position. After careful consideration of Oracle's current business needs, we have made the decision to eliminate your role as part of a broader organizational change. As a result, today is your last working day," the layoff email sent by "Oracle leadership," accessed by Business Insider, read.
These employees will receive a severance package based on the severance plan.
"After signing your termination paperwork, you will be eligible to receive a severance package subject to the terms and conditions of the severance plan," it said.
Employees React
Several impacted employees took to social media to express their frustration over the job cuts.
One of the users wrote, “They created widespread fear, frustration, and uncertainty among all employees, not just those directly impacted by the RIF."
Another added, “From a financial perspective, the approach seems inefficient, offering significant severance packages while continuing to hire new employees.”
A user said, "That's how thin the line really is. No handshake, no goodbye just silence and one click is all it takes to erase a career."
Meanwhile, a user whose father was laid after 20 years, just two years before he was going to retire wrote, "not even a phone, The companies are evil."
