KKR Bids $5.2 Billion for U.K. Waste Company Viridor: Telegraph

(Bloomberg) -- KKR made an early bid for Pennon Group Plc’s U.K. waste company Viridor, which is up for sale with a 4 billion-pound bid ($5.2 billion) price tag, The Telegraph reported, citing unidentified sources.

Morgan Stanley and Barclays have been appointed to sell Viridor, which burns waste to generate energy. KKR’s move shocked several interested parties lining up to bid for one of Britain’s most sought-after investments of 2020, the paper reported.

Pennon and KKR declined to comment to the newspaper.
