Infosys president and board member B.G. Srinivas, who resigned on Wednesday, will be joining Hong Kong-based information and communications technology PCCW as its group managing director with effect from July 14, 2014.

This was disclosed by the Kong Kong-based company on its website.

Mr Srinivas, who joined the company in 1999, will remain in his role at the Bangalore-based company until June 10. He was seen a contender for Infosys CEO after SD Shibulal's tenure ends next year.

Mr. Srinivas will succeed Mr. George Chan, who will retire from his position as the group managing director of PCCW following completion of his contract with the company on July 7, 2014.

Mr Srinivas, who joined Infosys in 1999, is the 10th top-level executive to quit since its co-founder Narayana Murthy returned to its helm in June last year.

Prior to Infosys, Mr Srinivas held several leadership roles at ABB, the Swiss multinational group.
