Infosys Loses Another Top Executive as K Murali Krishna Quits

In the first top-level exit at Infosys after Vishal Sikka was named as its chief executive, K Murali Krishna, senior vice president and group head of the IT firm's computers and communications division, has resigned.

"We can confirm that he has moved on to pursue his aspirations," Infosys said in response to a query by PTI. "We have identified a leader to take on his responsibilities."

This is the 13th senior level exit from Infosys in the past one year since N R Narayana Murthy returned from retirement as executive chairman to put the firm back on a high-growth trajectory at a time when peers like Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and HCL Tech were outperforming India's second largest software services firm.

Earlier exits at Infosys include that of CFO V Balakrishnan, global manufacturing head Ashok Vemuri and president BG Srinivas.

This is the first senior level exit after Infosys named Mr Sikka, a former SAP executive board member, as its new CEO on June 12, choosing a non-founder for the post for the first time.

Mr Murthy stepped down from the top executive post on June 14. He has been designated as the IT firm's chairman emeritus from October 11, 2014. (Read more)

Mr Krishna joined Infosys in December 1984 and has held multiple roles in project management, client relationship management, and delivery management for the US Midwest, his profile on the company's website read.

The company said prior to taking on this role in 2007, Mr Krishna was head of the systems integration practice, responsible for developing and delivering end-to-end broad-based technology solutions in collaboration with alliance partners worldwide.
