Hindustan Unilever Ltd. approved an investment of Rs 2,000 crore in beauty & wellbeing and home care over a period of two years, the company informed via an exchange filing on Wednesday. 

With the investment, HUL aims to expand manufacturing capacity in fast-growing premium categories across this bracket, the filing added.  

"We would like to inform you that the Board, at its meeting held today i.e. 18th February 2026, has approved the proposed investment of around Rs 2,000 crore over a period of two years to expand manufacturing capacity in fast-growing premium categories across Beauty & Wellbeing and Home Care," the filing stated. 

HUL Q3FY26 Results

Hindustan Unilever Ltd.'s profit and volume growth missed market expectations in the December quarter, even as revenue and operating profit came in above estimates.

The FMCG major reported consolidated net profit of Rs 2,118 crore, down 30% year-on-year from Rs 3,027 crore. Analysts tracked by Bloomberg had estimated Rs 2,615 crore.

Underlying volume growth stood at 4% during the quarter and fell short of estimates. Analysts tracked by Bloombeg had pegged the volume growth at 4.2%. The announcement sent the company's shared declining by as much as 3%.

The country's largest FMCG company separately reported profit of Rs 4,485 crore from discontinued operations for the quarter.

Ebitda increased 2.7% to Rs 3,788 crore from Rs 3,689 crore, marginally above the Bloomberg estimate of Rs 3,770 crore.

HUL Share Price

HUL's stock ended 0.59% higher at Rs 2,326 apiece on the NSE on Wednesday. This compares to a 0.37% advance in the Nifty index. The stock has risen 1.20% in the last 12 months and 0.33% year-to-date.
