Hero Electric Vehicles Pvt. will partner with Reliance BP Mobility Ltd.'s Jio-bp for charging and battery-swapping services for electric two-wheelers in the country.
Customers of Hero Electric will get access to the widespread charging and swapping network of Jio-bp, which is also open to other vehicles, the company said in a statement. The development is expected to boost electric vehicle adoption and mobility in India, it said.
The two companies will use their global experience in electrification to provide differentiated experience to their customers. They will also create solutions for customers on their respective apps.
Jio-bp operates EV charging and swapping stations under the brand Jio-bp pulse. The app enables customers to find nearby charging stations.
Hero Electric makes electric scooters under Photon, Optima and Eddy brands.
