India has launched a one-stop digital portal linking government credit schemes to directly connect beneficiaries to lenders.

It would be a single site to address people’s concerns and help them understand which scheme they are eligible for, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in his speech at an event in New Delhi on Monday. “It will help many more people come forward to avail the various credit facilities.”

The Jan Samarth Portal is a centralised platform for 13 credit-linked schemes across education, agri-infrastructure, business activity and livelihood loans, according to its website.

These are:

  • Central Sector Interest Subsidy

  • Padho Pardesh

  • Dr Ambedkar Central Sector Scheme

  • Agriclinic and Agribusiness Centres Scheme

  • Agricultural Marketing Infrastructure

  • Agriculture Infrastructure Fund

  • Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Rural Livelihoods Mission

  • Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme

  • Weaver Mudra Scheme

  • Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana

  • Pradhan Mantri Street Vendor Aatmanirbhar Nidhi Scheme

  • Self Employment Scheme for Rehabilitation of Manual Scavengers

  • Stand-Up India Scheme

Modi also inaugurated a digital exhibition that traces the journey of the two ministries over the past eight years. And a special series of Re 1, Rs 2, Rs 5, Rs 10 and Rs 20 coins were released. The programme was organised simultaneously at 75 locations across the country.
