Shares of gas distributor Indraprastha Gas gained 0.9 per cent, while Gujarat Gas Co was up 2.6 per cent after the Election Commission asked the government to defer a planned hike in gas prices due to start on April 1.
Other shares of companies dependent on gas also rise. Tata Power gained 0.7 per cent, while Chambal Fertilisers and Chemicals rose 2.5 per cent.
