Overseas investors turned net buyers of Indian equities, snapping a three-days net selling streak.

The longest buying stretch by FPIs, this year so far, lasted 13 days from July 28 to Aug. 17.

Foreign portfolio investors net bought equities worth Rs 1,144.53 crore on Tuesday, as per data from the National Stock Exchange.

Domestic institutional investors remained net buyers and bought equities worth Rs 632.97 crore.

Institutions net sold Rs 517.19 crore worth of equities so far in September and Rs 34,000.27 crore till date in 2022.

The Sensex lost 49 points or 0.08% to end at 59,196.99 on the BSE. The Nifty 50 declined 0.06% to close at 17,655.60 on the NSE. Among Nifty 50 constituents, 20 stocks rose, 29 fell and one remained unchanged.
