Overseas investors remained net sellers for the second straight day on Friday.
Foreign portfolio investors net sold Indian equities worth Rs 8.79 crore on Friday, as per data from the National Stock Exchange. This is the least amount of Indian equity net sold by FPIs so far in 2022.
The longest buying stretch by FPIs, so far in 2022, lasted 13 days from July 28 to August 17.
Domestic institutional investors also turned net sellers and sold equities worth Rs 668.74 crore.
Institutions net sold Rs 2,016 crore worth of equities during the first two days of September and Rs 35,499.79 crore till date in 2022.
BSE Sensex inched up by a meager 36 points to end at 58,803.33, while the Nifty 50 ended flat, down 3.35 points at 17,539.45 on the NSE.
