FPIs Stay Net Buyers For Sixth Straight Day

Overseas investors remained net buyers of Indian equities for the sixth day in a row on Thursday.

It marks the longest running buying streak since March 29 this year.

Foreign portfolio investors net bought equities worth Rs 1,477.47 crore today, as per data from the National Stock Exchange.

On the other hand, domestic institutional investors net sold equities worth Rs 46.79 crore.

Institutions net bought Rs 3,978.31 crore worth of equities in July, the only month of the year so far when institutions remained net buyers.

Institutions have net bought Rs 4,115.7 crore worth of equities in August so far, and net sold equities worth Rs 44,323.99 this year.

The benchmark S&P BSE Sensex snapped out of six days of gains and closed at 58,298. The Nifty 50, too, ended six points lower at 17,382.

The benchmark indices closed in the red today, dragged by banking and telecom stocks.
