Zomato Ltd. Chief Executive Officer Deepinder Goyal on Wednesday claimed that the company is saving over 1.5 lakh meals in a month with its Food Rescue feature.

The online food delivery platform introduced the feature on Nov. 10 to cut down on food wastage. Zomato's Food Rescue feature allows customers within a 3 km radius of the delivery partner to purchase cancelled orders at discounted prices.

Four months since, Goyal shared an update on Food Rescue customers on his X profile.

"Update on Food Rescue. Customers are now rescuing 75% of eligible orders and this number is steadily increasing. At the current rate, we are saving over 150,000 meals in a month. We're truly grateful for the customer love this feature is receiving. On average, these orders are claimed within 2 minutes and delivered in under 9 minutes," he shared on his X profile.
