(Bloomberg) -- Black Friday may have been big for Britain's retailers, but not the week after, as department store company John Lewis Partnership shows with sales growth slowing to 3.3 percent. Rather than drive overall sales, the big day of discounts to kick off holiday shopping appears to be sucking sales away from the rest of the festive season. Brexit uncertainty and an increase in interest rates have rattled consumers, but recent wage and inflation data suggest the tide may be turning for household incomes and next year might be better.
