Amazon has expanded its 10-minute delivery service — Amazon Now — in Mumbai, as the quick commerce battle intensifies. The move comes on the back of exponential growth in Delhi and Bengaluru clusters, where the company has witnessed a 25% monthly growth in orders.

Amazon Now's foray into Mumbai is also a part of the e-commerce giant's larger plan to meet the growing need for ultra-fast delivery of essentials, the company said in a media statement.

Through Amazon Now, users across Mumbai will now be able to order a wide variety of items — from groceries and personal care products to electronic accessories — and have them delivered in minutes.

As mentioned earlier, Amazon Now has witnessed strong growth in Delhi and Bengaluru. To supprot the growing demand, the company has established more than 100 operational micro-fulfilment centres.

"The response has exceeded our most optimistic expectations," said Samir Kumar, Vice President and Country Manager, Amazon India. "Driven by this success, we've expanded to over 100 micro-fulfilment centers and plan to add hundreds more across Bengaluru, Delhi, and Mumbai."

Amazon Now's entry into Mumbai is timed to support the upcoming Amazon Great Indian Festival, which begins on September 23.
