Akshaya Moondra Named Next CEO Of Vodafone Idea

Vodafone Idea Ltd. has named Akshaya Moondra as its next chief executive officer.

Moondra, currently the chief financial officer at the telecom company, has been appointed its managing director and CEO for three years, according to its exchange filing. He succeeds Ravinder Takkar, whose term ends on Aug. 18.

The telecom operator said it will announce new CFO "in due course".

Moondra joined erstwhile Idea Cellular as its CFO in 2008. Upon merger with Vodafone Group's India operations, he continued to hold the position.

Moondra worked with Grasim Industries Ltd., Thai Rayon, Thai Epoxy and Allied Products, Thai Acrylic Fibre, Thailand before joining Idea Cellular.
