ACC Q3 in line with estimates, net profit jumps 48% at Rs 249 crore

Cement major ACC reported 48 per cent year-on-year jump in net profit for the July to September quarter on account of higher realisation. Net profit for the fiscal third quarter rose to Rs 249 crore against Rs 168 crore last year. Price increases in all regions boosted realisations, which jumped 18.7 per cent to Rs 4,483 per tonne year-on-year.

ACC, India's No. 2 cement maker, said sales rose nearly 14 per cent year-on-year to Rs 2,444.5 crore against Rs 2,150 crore last year.

A brokers' poll by NDTV estimated net profit to rise to Rs 251 crore and sales rising to Rs 2,446.5 crore.

Ebitda margins, a key measure of profitability, rose 17.8 per cent against expectations of 17.3 per cent. Ebitda per tonne stood at Rs 798.

Shares in ACC, India's fourth largest cement company by market value, closed 0.5 per cent lower at Rs 1,420 on the BSE. ACC is controlled by Switzerland's Holcim, the world's second-largest cement producer.
