Trumps Board of Peace: Countries That Have Joined Or Declined — Full List

Days after announcing the ‘Board of Peace', United States President Donald Trump officially launched the initiative on Thursday at Davos, Switzerland. Initially designed to end the Gaza conflict, Trump's ‘Board of Peace' is part of his broader effort to reshape approaches to global conflict resolution.

However, the US President maintained that the initiative is not designed as a replacement for the United Nations. Despite his assurances, several key US allies remain hesitant to join. They have raised concerns about the board's expanded mandate and lack of clarity over its role.

At the same time, as many as 35 nations have agreed to support Trump on his new venture, Reuters reported. These include Israel, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Argentina and Indonesia, among others. Russia is also said to be considering participation.

"Once this board is completely formed, we can do pretty much whatever we want to do. And we'll do it in conjunction with the United Nations," Trump said.

Based on an earlier statement from the White House, the proposed “Board of Peace” would bring together around 60 invited countries to oversee peace initiatives, starting with conflict-torn Gaza. It is intended to act as a transitional governing and coordination mechanism, focusing on security stabilisation, humanitarian aid, reconstruction and political transition, according to the White House.

Invitations were sent to as many as 60 countries to join the board, including India. Nations seeking permanent seats at the board will need to commit at least $1 billion, while other members will serve fixed three-year terms.
