Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Washington DC on Wednesday for a two-day visit, during which he is set to hold high-level discussions with US President Donald Trump.

Modi's discussions with Trump come at a crucial time, as concerns grow in New Delhi over Washington's 'America First' trade policies and its evolving stance on immigration. The visit is expected to cover a range of bilateral issues, including trade, defence and technological collaboration.

During his stay in Washington, Modi will be hosted at Blair House, the US presidential guest house located in the heart of the American capital. According to a statement from the Prime Minister's Office, his bilateral meeting with Trump will take place on Thursday, marking their first official talks since Trump's re-election as the 47th President of the United States last month.

Modi is the fourth foreign leader to visit President Trump since his inauguration in January. Prior to arriving in the US, Modi attended the 14th India-France CEOs Forum in Paris and also met US Vice President JD Vance, his Indian-origin wife, and their two sons.
