ABC suspended talk show host Jimmy Kimmel indefinitely over remarks about right-wing influencer Charlie Kirk's killing. Kimmel said the "Maga gang" aimed to score political points from the shooting.
“We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang trying to characterize this kid who killed Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them,” Kimmel said in his Sept. 15 monologue.
The comments inflamed many conservative commentators and brought a rebuke from members of the Trump administration. While Kimmel is known for his satirical and often biting humor, these jokes from the talk show host were not well-received by the company.
It was reported that Kimmel had been suspended from his hosting duties. The decision has sparked a significant backlash from a wide range of professionals in the entertainment industry.
