Israel's military on Wednesday said it carried out its largest coordinated strike in Lebanon since launching its latest offensive in March, claiming to have hit more than 100 Hezbollah-linked targets within a span of 10 minutes.

In a statement on X, the Israel Defense Forces said the strikes were conducted “a short while ago” across multiple locations simultaneously.

“Within 10 minutes and across multiple areas simultaneously: The [Israeli army] completed the largest coordinated strike targeting more than 100 Hezbollah command centers and military sites,” the statement said.

According to the military, the strikes spanned key regions including Beirut, the Bekaa Valley, and southern Lebanon, areas known to have a significant Hezbollah presence.

The Israeli army further claimed that a substantial portion of the targeted infrastructure was embedded within civilian areas.

“Most of the infrastructure that was struck was located within the heart of the civilian population,” it said, adding that “steps were taken to mitigate harm to uninvolved individuals as much as possible.”

The escalation comes shortly after a ceasefire understanding between the United States and Iran, underscoring continued volatility in the wider region despite diplomatic efforts to ease tensions.

Lebanon's Health Minister Rakan Nassereddine said hospitals across the country are struggling to cope with the surge in casualties following the latest Israeli airstrikes.

“Hospitals are overcrowded with martyrs and the wounded due to the [Israeli] airstrikes on Beirut and other areas,” Nassereddine told Al Jazeera. He added that the Lebanese Red Cross has deployed around 100 ambulances to affected regions, with teams actively transporting the injured.

According to Lebanon's National News Agency, one of the strikes hit a cemetery in the Bekaa Valley village of Shmestar, killing at least 10 people and injuring four others who were attending a funeral. Rescue and medical teams continue to operate at the site.

In a separate incident, the agency reported that an Israeli strike on the coastal town of Adloun killed three girls.
