Premier Energies’ Chief Business Officer Vinay Rustagi told NDTV Profit that the government’s domestic manufacturing push is already driving a sharp surge in demand, with cell requirements expected to jump to 30–35 GW this year from 16–18 GW last year. The company has expanded capacity to 3.6 GW and is setting up a 7 GW plant in Andhra Pradesh, while investing in advanced technologies to meet rising domestic demand, even as cost impacts remain limited for most segments and about 10–12% for corporates under new sourcing rules.
