A woman's 30-kg weight loss journey using Ozempic has gone viral on X, drawing attention not just for the transformation but also for the side effects she experienced along the way.

The posts were shared by X user Scott Hakura Aiin, a British-Indian woman, who documented her journey in detail. In a thread reflecting on her experience, she wrote, “When I started… I didn't realise how intense it would get,”.

She added that the changes were gradual but noticeable over time, saying, “It wasn't overnight. There were weeks where nothing seemed to change, and then suddenly you see it.” In another post, she noted the discipline required, writing, “This isn't magic. You still have to watch what you eat and how you live.”

Along with her account, she shared a series of pictures that visually captured her transformation. The images included before-and-after photos showing a significant reduction in weight, as well as in-progress pictures that documented different stages of her journey. Some photos highlighted changes in body shape, while others showed everyday moments, offering a more personal glimpse into the process.

However, she was equally candid about the downsides. “Some days your stomach just refuses to cooperate,” she wrote, describing recurring digestive discomfort. In another candid remark, she said, “There were days I felt constantly nauseous and didn't want to eat anything at all.”

She also warned others against assuming the process is easy, adding, “People think it's a shortcut, but it really isn't. It comes with its own challenges.” Emphasising caution, she wrote, “Don't do this without proper guidance. It's not something to try casually.”

Talking about Ozempic to go generic in India, she said, “Everyone's celebrating that Ozempic is about to go generic in India. Cheaper access, wider reach—more people finally getting help. And yes, part of me is genuinely glad. But I've also lived it. And I need to say this before it turns into the next ‘just take this and your life will sort itself out' trend. Because that's not what this is.”

Ozempic, a semaglutide-based drug originally developed to treat type 2 diabetes, has gained popularity as a weight-loss aid due to its appetite-suppressing effects. She concludes with a measured warning for those considering Ozempic in India, urging them to pause and make informed decisions rather than act on impulse.

She stresses the importance of getting proper medical advice, undergoing necessary tests, and understanding the long-term impact instead of being influenced by before-and-after transformations.

At the same time, she does not discourage its use outright, instead emphasising awareness and responsibility, making it clear that while the treatment can help, no one should “walk into it blind.”
