HBO’s Harry Potter Cast Revealed: Meet New Harry, Hermione And Ron
Dominic Laughlin, Arabella Stanton and Alastair Stout have been roped in as the lead cast of the Harry Potter TV series.

The lead cast for the Harry Potter TV series by HBO has been revealed. Dominic McLaughlin will play the role of the Boy Who Lived, Harry Potter himself, in the upcoming adaptation of JK Rowling’s books. Arabella Stanton has been cast as Hermione Granger, while Alastair Stout will portray Ron Weasley, according to the official website.
Earlier, Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint had shot to fame as the Golden Trio in the films by Warner Bros. The Harry Potter TV series is the second adaptation of JK Rowling’s book of the same name.
Executive producers Francesca Gardiner and Mark Mylod revealed that Dominic McLaughlin, Arabella Stanton and Alastair Stout were cast after seeing “tens of thousands” of children audition.
30,000 Aspirants Participated In The Audition
“After an extraordinary search led by casting directors Lucy Bevan and Emily Brockmann, we are delighted to announce we have found our Harry, Hermione and Ron. The talent of these three unique actors is wonderful to behold and we cannot wait for the world to witness their magic together onscreen. We would like to thank all the tens of thousands of children who auditioned. It's been a real pleasure to discover the plethora of young talent out there,” they said.
The open casting call for the Harry Potter leads began in September last year. In December, Mylod revealed that 30,000 aspirants participated in the audition for the coveted roles. The reboot was seeking children aged between 9 and 11 who were residents of Ireland or the United Kingdom. In the initial round, budding actors had to send two videos - one performing a poem or a short story and another talking about themselves or a friend, family member, or pet they felt close to.
