To celebrate Nowruz, many people also opt for spring cleaning as shown in the doodle. It marks preparation for a fresh start of the year. Other symbols in this theme include decorating eggs, and even leaping over a bonfire which is believed to cleanse energy from last year and invite vitality in the future.

Besides India, the doodle also appeared in countries like Canada, Azerbaijan, and Iran among others. The designer of the logo, Yousefi, is a California-based UX designer. He has contributed to several Google Doodles in the past and leads the design team at Google Translate.

Notably, the earliest Google Doodle that was launched was an "out of office" message. It was meant to share that company founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin went on vacation.
