Samsung Launches Odyssey OLED G6 With 500Hz Refresh Rate For Gamers
The Odyssey OLED G6 is designed to handle high-frame-rate gaming, making it suitable for competitive play.

Samsung has announced the launch of the Odyssey OLED G6 (G60SF), which it claims is the world’s first OLED gaming monitor to feature a 500Hz refresh rate. The 27-inch monitor is equipped with a 0.03ms (GTG) response time, aimed at reducing latency and improving performance, particularly for gaming. The high refresh rate and response speed are intended to deliver smoother motion and improved visual clarity during fast-paced gameplay.
The Odyssey OLED G6 comes with a 27-inch QD-OLED panel, offering QHD+ (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution. Its 16:9 aspect ratio and peak brightness of 1,000 nits ensure bright and sharp visuals. Similarly, HDR10+ Gaming support provides better contrast and more lifelike colour reproduction. A glare-free screen coating has also been added to reduce reflections during extended play sessions, according to a NewsBytes report.

One of the main features of the Odyssey OLED G6 is the inclusion of Samsung’s OLED Safeguard+ technology, which incorporates a specialised cooling system to handle heat better. The mechanism uses an evaporative coolant, which the company says dissipates heat five times more effectively than traditional graphite-based methods.
The monitor also features a dynamic thermal control system that automatically adjusts screen brightness based on internal temperature. In addition, static elements such as logos and heads-up displays (HUDs) are dimmed slightly to help prevent OLED burn-in over time.
The Odyssey OLED G6 is designed to handle high-frame-rate gaming, making it suitable for competitive play. It supports both AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and NVIDIA G-SYNC, which help reduce screen tearing and stuttering in supported titles.
For creators and professionals who rely on colour accuracy, the monitor carries PANTONE and PANTONE SkinTone validations. This ensures authentic rendering of over 2,100 colours and more than 110 skin tone variations.
According to the report, gamers will also appreciate the ergonomic flexibility offered. The monitor’s stand allows height adjustment, tilting, pivot rotation and compatibility with VESA wall mounts.
In terms of connectivity, the monitor includes DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.1 and a headphone jack. It also features one USB-B upstream port and two USB Type-A downstream ports with USB 3.2 support.
The Odyssey OLED G6 is priced at around Rs 97,900. It is set to launch across Singapore, Vietnam, Malaysia and Thailand starting May 12. Samsung is yet to announce availability for other markets.
