Speculation about the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is gathering pace, though the latest reports regarding its battery capacity have disappointed many. Since the introduction of the Galaxy S Ultra range, the devices have consistently featured batteries of the same capacity.

Thanks to software optimisation and better chipsets, Samsung has been able to deliver respectable screen-on time. However, it remains uncertain whether the Galaxy S26 Ultra will maintain this standard. According to a recent report, the device is likely to have a larger display but might not come with an increased battery size.

Tipster PhoneArt (@UniverseIce) shared on X that the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra will feature a 5,000 mAh battery. If the report is accurate, this would mark the sixth consecutive year that Samsung has maintained the same battery capacity in its Galaxy S Ultra series.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, the flagship model in the S-series lineup, is equipped with a 5,000 mAh battery. The same is also true for its predecessor, the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

Released in February 2020, Samsung’s Galaxy S20 Ultra was the initial model in the series to feature a 5,000mAh battery. However, the absence of a larger battery in the S26 Ultra might not be a negative aspect, as overall performance largely depends on the efficiency of the processor and the optimisation of the software.

PhoneArt has also suggested that the Galaxy S26 Ultra may support charging speeds beyond 45W. While Samsung seems to be exploring the possibility of 65W fast wired charging for its upcoming flagship, this information remains unconfirmed.

According to reports, the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is rumoured to be equipped with a customised Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2 chipset, likely manufactured using TSMC’s 3 nm technology.

Additionally, a recent report has suggested that the device may feature a 6.89-inch screen with slimmer bezels, making it 0.3 inches bigger than the display found on the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

For photography and video recording, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is rumoured to feature a 1/1.1-inch 200MP primary rear sensor from Sony. This new camera unit is reported to be a considerable advancement compared to the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s in-house 1/1.3-inch sensor.
