At the Galaxy Unpacked 2025 today, Jan. 22, Samsung launched exciting new additions to the Galaxy smartphone family. The new flagship series comprises Samsung Galaxy S25, Samsung Galaxy S25 Plus, and Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra models, which will be more integrated with agentic AI and other powerful AI features. The company also teased its upcoming Galaxy S25 Edge smartphone.
Introducing multimodal AI agents, the Galaxy S25 series helps how users interact with their phone and their world. The Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform for Galaxy chipset delivers greater on-device processing power for Galaxy AI and superior camera range and control with Galaxy’s next-generation ProVisual Engine. The company also showcased the One UI 7 update and new Galaxy AI features.
So, from Samsung Galaxy S25, Samsung Galaxy S25 Plus, Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra to UI 7 and Galaxy S25 Edge, here’s a look at all the launches and announcements from the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2025.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra
Powered by the new Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, which promises increased performance, the Galaxy S25 Ultra is available in 12GB RAM with 256GB storage, 512GB storage, and 1TB UFS 4.1 storage options. It has a 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED display with up to 120Hz refresh rate.
The camera setup packs a 200MP primary camera, 50MP periscope telephoto lens, 10MP telephoto shooter, and an all-new 50MP Ultrawide camera. Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra will have Android 15-based One UI 7 out of the box with various new Galaxy AI features, along with a 5,000 mAh battery, 45W wired charging speed, wireless charging support, and IP68 water and dust protection.
The base edition of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, which has 256GB of built-in storage and 12GB of RAM, costs $1,299 (about Rs. 1,12,300). Additionally, the 12GB+256GB and 12GB+512GB versions cost $1,419 (about Rs. 1,22,700) and $1,659 (about Rs. 1,43,400), respectively.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Plus
Like the Ultra, the Galaxy S25 Plus model also gets an upgrade to the new Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, plus One UI 7 offers more smart features and AI capabilities. It comes with 12GB RAM and 256GB/512GB storage options, and gets a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED QHD+ screen with 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rate. The rear triple lens camera setup includes a 50MP main shooter, 12MP ultrawide and 10MP telephoto. The Samsung Galaxy S25 Plus smartphone has an IP68 rating for water and dust protection, and 4900mAh battery with 45W wired and wireless charging support.
The standard edition of Samsung Galaxy S25 Plus, which has 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, costs $999 (about Rs. 86,400). Its 12GB+512GB variant costs $1,119 (about Rs. 96,700).
Samsung Galaxy S25
The base variant in the S25 family features an improved display, new software features with One UI 7, and also packs a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset for improved performance. The phone sports a Dynamic AMOLED FHD+ screen of 6.2 inches with 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rate, and a camera system featuring 50MP main, 12MP ultrawide and 10MP telephoto like the S25 Plus variant. The Samsung Galaxy S25 is available in 12GB RAM with 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB storage options. The 4000mAh battery is complemented with 25W wired charging and wireless charging support, and it is rated IP68 for water and dust protection.
The base Samsung Galaxy S25 model with 12GB RAM and 128GB storage costs $799, or around Rs. 69,100. Additionally, the 12GB+256GB version will be offered for $859, or around Rs. 74,300. Pricing information for the 12GB+512GB variant has not yet been released by the company.
Galaxy S25 Edge Teased
The Galaxy S25 Edge was also briefly showcased on stage by Samsung at the event. Even though Samsung didn't disclose how thin the device is, it seemed really sleek during the showcase, with a design language identical to that of other Galaxy S25 devices. There seem to be three cameras on its back. However, it will not be available at the same time as other Galaxy S25 series phones, and will be launched later.
One UI 7
Samsung’s Android 15-based One UI 7 software will power the new Samsung Galaxy S25 series phones. According to Samsung, it is integrated with the core operating system. With the addition of additional Galaxy AI features and a new “Now Bar” for more convenient alerts, Samsung claims that its new software will be even more intelligent. With One UI 7, the Galaxy S25 series understands the context of user needs and preferences and provides personalised AI experiences along with privacy. Transcripts of calls directly on call screen, screen sharing, live video streaming are some other notable AI features powered by One UI 7.
Galaxy AI
New Galaxy AI features, which integrate AI agents and multimodal capabilities into the S25 series, headlined the Galaxy Unpacked 2025. Its agentic AI features have become more powerful, with capabilities ranging from searching restaurants to creating custom messages for sharing with another user to searching photos on the device.
According to Samsung, AI agents with multimodal capabilities enable Galaxy S25 to interpret text, speech, images and videos for natural interactions. It has made upgrades to Google’s Circle to Search, which can now recognise phone numbers, email and URLs on user screens, letting them call, email or visit a website with a single tap.
Other AI features include: Insights, with data such as weather and sleep scores shown on a single scrollable screen for the user; Now Brief information on the lock screen, including Morning Brief and Evening Brief; Audio Eraser, which helps focus audio on particular ones and remove surround sounds such as music, breezes, and crowd noise; and Night Video, which helps record videos with more brightness and detail and lower noise levels. Music search helps identify songs and artists, plus there are new Routines, Calendar and Reminders features.
