The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge, the fourth phone in the S25 series that had kept smartphone lovers on edge for its purported thin form and sleek design, was supposed to release on April 16 and go on sale in early May.
However, "Sammy" fans will now have to wait till May or June to witness its unveiling. Samsung has reportedly postponed the launch of the Galaxy S25 Edge, and while the news broke a day ago, many were taking it with a pinch of salt, thinking it could be an April Fool's joke.
Not anymore.
Why Samsung Delayed Galaxy S25 Edge Launch
According to ETNews (via leaker @Jukanlosreve), Samsung has chosen to delay the Galaxy S25 Edge's release, now moving the launch date to May or June. The three telecom companies that will sell this thin phone in South Korea have apparently been informed of this by Samsung.
The Galaxy S25 Edge was also certified by the Bureau of Indian Standards, as per earlier reports, indicating an imminent release.
The cause of this delay is not clear, with some reports indicating "technical issues" while others offering a different perspective. Reputable leaker Roland Quandt has said in a report for WinFuture that "sources close to Samsung" have verified that the delay is because of "technical reasons" and that additional testing of the phone is required. Other reports say Samsung might have adjusted the launch date in light of the passing of JH Han, the head of Samsung DX.
According to reports, Samsung will not host a major launch event for the Galaxy S25 Edge. Rather, the phone will be unveiled during an online event where the release date and pricing will be disclosed.

Although Samsung has not formally disclosed any pricing information for the Galaxy S25 Edge, the 256GB edition is expected to retail for between €1,200 and €1,300. The 512GB model of the S25 Edge can cost between €1,300 and €1,400.
