Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Unveiled: Specifications, Features And All You Need To Know
Flagship Android devices powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 are expected to be available in the coming weeks, Qualcomm said.

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. announced its latest mobile platform Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 at the Snapdragon Summit. The company said that Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is its first mobile platform "meticulously designed" with generative AI in mind.
Flagship Android devices powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 are expected to be available in the coming weeks, the company said in a statement.
"Achieve newfound creativity using generative AI, intelligently capture one-of-a-kind content, get lost in console-defying 240 FPS mobile gaming, or jam out to boundless studio-quality lossless audio—all backed by the world’s fastest mobile connectivity," Qualcomm said about its latest flagship mobile platform.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Availability
"As the premium Android smartphone SoC leader, Qualcomm Technologies’ latest processor will be adopted for flagship devices by global OEMs and smartphone brands including ASUS, Honor, iQOO, MEIZU, NIO, Nubia, OnePlus, OPPO, realme, Redmi, RedMagic, Sony, vivo, Xiaomi, and ZTE," Qualcomm said in its statement.
According to a report in The Indian Express, the first phone to sport this chip will likely be the Xiaomi 14 series or Samsung’s Galaxy S24 line, which is expected to launch in early 2024.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Chipset: Specifications And Features
Qualcomm claims that its AI Engine is the world’s first to support generative AI models with up to 10 billion parameters — on-device.
The Qualcomm Hexagon NPU delivers 98% faster performance and 40% improved performance-per-watt for sustained AI inferencing, the company said.
The company said that the Qualcomm Kryo CPU reaches unprecedented speeds with upgraded CPU subsystem and a 30% performance improvement and 20% improved power efficiency as compared to the previous generation.
"Plus, the upgraded Qualcomm Adreno GPU yields 25% faster graphics rendering and 25% improved GPU power efficiency, enhanced gaming and streaming," the statement said.
The new chip also promises new gaming features which will 'mesmerazie' users. Game scenes can be upscaled up to 8K external displays with Snapdragon Game Super Resolution.
"Authentic immersion—with lifelike, multi-source lighting— is powered by Hardware-Accelerated Ray Tracing with Global Illumination, a first-in-mobile feature brought to you by Unreal Engine 5.2. Plus, sharpen your competitive edge with ultra-smooth, lag-free graphics from an unprecedented 240 FPS on 240 Hz displays," Qualcomm said.
