OnePlus 13T Could Drop Iconic Alert Slider For Smarter Button

The upcoming OnePlus 13T is going to blow things up on the phone front. This might be the moment when the brand is finally saying goodbye to its Alert Slider and swapping it with something new — a smart button.
Why the change? The smart button will be more flexible, the company says. It's not just about switching between silent, vibrate and ring modes. Users will be able to do much more with this button. OnePlus claims the button has been designed with a "very interesting function".
Recently, the president of OnePlus China, Li Jie, shared a sneak peek of the new button. He confirmed it was meant to be easier and more personalised for everyday use. This new button is rumoured to debut on the OnePlus 13T, the company's first phone without the Alert Slider.
That’s not the only update. The OnePlus 13T is likely to be a small phone. Based on user feedback, OnePlus found that fans of smaller phones prefer flat screens. Therefore, this model aims for a simpler design with a smaller size. Official size details have not been announced, but rumours suggest a 6.3-inch display.
Some key specs were also confirmed by Li Jie. The 13T will be powered by a 6,000mAh battery, but will only weigh 185 gm. That’s pretty impressive, considering the bigger OnePlus 13, which weighs 210 gm.
OnePlus has tried to strike a balance between letting users have more control over their smartphone while not sacrificing on design or performance.
The exact launch date of the OnePlus 13T is not known. However, the official reveal is expected sometime later this month.
