iPhone 17 Series Launch: How Much Will It Cost In India? Key Details To Know

Apple is planning to pack many surprises in the upcoming iPhone 17 lineup, including the introduction of a new iPhone 17 Air model. The Air model is said to be the tech giant's experiment with replicating the success of MacBook in the smartphone market.

Ahead of the grand September launch, so much is being said about the design, look, camera, chipset and other features of the new lineup: iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max.

iPhone 17 Air will also mark Apple's entry into the ultra-slim smartphone segment and is expected to be offered at an affordable price range. Given its design and competitive pricing, the iPhone 17 Air could be a huge hit in the Indian smartphone market, where demand for iPhones has surged in recent years.

While many rumours are doing the rounds about the new iPhone series, two of the most talked-about things are the camera and RAM. It is being speculated that, after last year’s criticism, Apple may be looking to upgrade all iPhone variants with 12GB RAM. This will be a significant boost to the performance of the iPhone 17 series, which will also be powered by a more enhanced Apple chipset.

The iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Air are expected to run on the new A19 chip, while the Pro models may feature the more powerful A19 Pro. All four iPhone 17 models are also expected to receive a major camera upgrade, featuring a 24MP front-facing (selfie) camera.

All variants will also likely have 120Hz ProMotion LTPO OLED displays. In terms of battery, people are expecting improved capabilities over the iPhone 16 models.

Notably, the 'ultra-slim' Air model may see a compromise battery capacity of under 3,000 mAh. However, some reports suggest that Apple is likely going to equip Air with superior battery technology for enhanced performance despite the lower capacity.

Besides the features, the iPhone 17 series' price itself has become a talking point due to the uncertainty following US tariffs. In India, prices for the iPhone 17 lineup could start at Rs 89,900 and go up to Rs 1,64,900, depending on the model.

While many of these features are speculative, excitement around the new iPhone lineup is high as it could be the last time Apple launches all models in September.

According to reports, the tech giant may be planning to revamp its fall release strategy. Starting from 2026, Apple might release lower-end models in the first half of the year, with high-end variants following in the second half.
