Google has released its first Pixel Drop of the year, updating Google Pixel devices with new features and upgrades. The rollout begins today and will continue over the coming weeks.
Here’s a look at Google’s March Pixel Drop updates.
New AI Features
New Gemini Live Uses
Gemini Live’s multilingual communication and comprehension is improved thanks to 2.0 Flash. Without changing the language setting, you can now communicate with Gemini Live in combination of over 45 languages. Gemini Live’s multimodal features are now extended to Pixel 6 and later models plus Pixel Fold devices, and you can include files, YouTube videos, and photographs in conversations.
According to Google, you will be able to interact with Gemini Live through live video and screen sharing with Gemini Advanced in the upcoming weeks.
Organise Screenshots
Pixel Screenshots’ new suggestions feature will automatically propose screenshots to be added to your collections. Additionally, you can utilise the Pixel Screenshots app with your work profile to arrange expenses, receipts, etc.
Use Pixel Studio To Create Images With People
Now you can use Pixel Studio to create original portraits of people. Simply provide a description of the character or scene you want, and Pixel Studio will bring your vision to life.
Improved Scam Detection
Gemini Nano’s Scam Detection for phone calls uses on-device AI to safeguard you against fraud while maintaining privacy. It will alert you for odd talking patterns in calls that scammers frequently employ. Additionally, Google Messages now has Scam Detection. It can recognise texts that initially appear harmless but may be part of scams. A real-time notice will be sent for you to block and report the chat.
New Camera Features
Capture Memories
For Pixel Fold users, Dual Screen Preview now has video recording capabilities. Additionally, Add Me with Dual Screen Preview is now available to Pixel 9 Pro Fold users.
Easy Streaming
With Connected Cameras, you can connect your Pixel to another camera, such as a GoPro or another Pixel phone, and use the cameras on these devices to stream to social media platforms from various angles.
New Productivity Features
Retain Your Recordings
When switching to a new phone, you can now move recordings from your old phone or Pixel Watch to your current one, and the Recorder app will automatically transcribe them.
Talk To Type
Gboard’s new Voice Toolbar makes it simple to access voice-to-typing so you can text on your Pixel phone without having to use the entire keyboard.
Customisation
By swiping down from the top of your screen, you can switch between modes and explore customisations for scenarios like Driving, Bedtime and Do Not Disturb.
Audio Content Control
You can use new actions on Pixel Watch to playback the audio queue, change playback speed, and fast-forward or rewind.
