The learning and development industry is undergoing a dramatic transformation, driven by the accelerating adoption of technology. Organisations are continuing to harness the potential of new-age technologies, offering impactful learning opportunities while optimising their performance.
The use of artificial intelligence, data analytics, augmented reality/virtual reality technology and others is helping create strategies for organisations to implement L&D programmes. As per an edForce report, nearly 46% of larger organisations surveyed, particularly those headquartered in the U.S. and Europe, adopt AI-driven and VR-based learning for effective skill retention. Around 53% of organisations prioritise the use of digital and AI tools in enhancing L&D opportunities.
Innovations In Learning & Development
According to the report, there is a growing demand for dynamic and on-demand learning solutions, driven by the use of innovative learning methods and AI tools. Microlearning and gamification are gaining popularity for their ability to engage learners through brief, focused modules. Since over 61% organisations strongly focus on upskilling in emerging technologies, these methods fit well in hybrid work models, improve training completion rates and help in building a highly dynamic workforce.
As part of quickly progressing technology and work culture, more organisations are understanding the need to develop stronger skills in their leadership teams. Around 52% of organisations are actively investing in L&D programmes to build future-ready leaders, the report showed.
Personalised Learning Pathways
Addressing skill gaps effectively is a major problem and to deal with it some 66% of organisations are focusing on more personalised learning paths. By prioritising a culture of continuous learning, these organisations align training programmes with employee-specific roles and career development goals. This helps them design a more tailored approach to improve skill retention, enabling a more capable and importantly, an engaged workforce.
Technology plays a big role in enabling personalised learning experiences, upskilling and real-time feedback. The emergence of HRTech platforms, enhanced with AI and analytical capabilities, helps identify high-potential talent and design targeted development plans, aligned with business goals.
“To build a resilient and future-ready workforce, organisations must implement robust learning and development (L&D) strategies. These strategies should address the rapid pace of technological advancements and the growing demand for specialised skills,” said Ravi Kaklasaria, CEO and co-founder of edForce.
