Apple is set to launch its iPhone 17 series in September. The upcoming models are expected to offer enhanced features, better battery life and sleek designs.

As per MacRumors, the US-based tech giant will roll out an all-new iPhone 17 Air model with a sleek exterior and improved performance.

From a redesigned camera layout to a revamped design, Apple is planning to bring several changes to its upcoming model.

Now, let us take a look at the 5 major upgrades:

Camera

The tech giant has decided to offer the best photography experience to its users. The iPhone 17 series will see a 24-megapixel selfie camera, reported MacRumors. The current line-up, the iPhone 16, has a 12-megapixel selfie camera.

Meanwhile, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claimed that the 24-megapixel front camera upgrade will "significantly improve the image quality."

Display Technology

All iPhone 17 models will come with ProMotion technology with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, which is a first for the iPhone series, MacRumors reports.

With the help of LTPO OLED screens, this update promises better video playback, responsiveness, and smoother scrolling.

Other than this, a vapour chamber cooling mechanism may be included in the Pro variants specifically for better heat dissipation.

Processor

The iPhone 17 series may come up with a next-gen A19 chip, which will be built on an upgraded 3nm process, the report added.

Compared to the A18 Pro, which made its debut on the iPhone 16 Pro models, this chip is expected to provide better performance and efficiency.

With the iPhone 17 series, Apple is also anticipated to release its own Wi-Fi 7 chip, which might take the place of the Broadcom chip used in models from the current generation.

Design

In addition to the camera, the Pro models will include a back panel made of glass and aluminium, giving them a sleeker look without losing wireless charging capabilities.

It is expected that the aluminium frame will replace the titanium used in earlier Pro models.

Durability

For the iPhone 17 series, Apple is reportedly developing a new anti-reflective display layer.

Compared to the existing ceramic shield, this coating should be more resilient to scratches and provide superior protection from falls and everyday use, MacRumors reported.

It will also help deal with screen reflections, which can make it easier to view things in bright conditions.
