iPhone 17 Pro Camera Tipped To Get Three Surprising Upgrades

Around six weeks from now, Apple will reveal its iPhone 17 series, with the most significant enhancements coming to the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. While there have been regular tips and leaks as to the expected iPhone 17 Pro feature, including its camera, a fresh rumour has emerged regarding some surprising enhancements to its camera.

As reported by Joe Rossignol at MacRumors, the publication obtained a tip from an anonymous source that provided unverified details regarding an advertisement being created for the iPhone 17 Pro.

“The tipster claimed to be familiar with an iPhone 17 Pro commercial that is allegedly being produced by a film company that has publicly listed Apple as one of its clients”, the report said.

While this is purely an anonymous tip, it claims that iPhone 17 Pro camera is getting three upgrades:

• The optical zoom in the telephoto lens of the iPhone 17 Pro will increase from 5x to 8x, and it will also be capable of moving and accessing various focal points.

• The iPhone 17 Pro will feature a pro-grade camera app for photography and videography.

• The iPhone 17 Pro will also come with an extra Camera Control button located along the top edge of the device.

While the pro camera app is completely possible, with Apple keeping things secret on the software front, it’s hard to keep hardware changes under wraps.

If a new Camera Control is in the works, the first to know about it would be the case makers, because the case will include cutouts for a new button. Usually such a news is spilled online, often with pictures of cases leaked.

When it comes to hardware, the tip about increased optical zoom in the telephoto camera is something Apple could definitely include. Still, hardware details are also often leaked well in advance.

Having said that, there have been surprises earlier as well, and you never know what part of this latest tip might actually turn out to be true.
